Alex Ionesco

ASSISTANT COACH

Alex Ionesco, born in France and a resident of Houston since 2009, commenced his basketball journey at the age of 12. During his high school years at Awty International High School, he dedicated four years to varsity basketball. Following his high school graduation, Alex completed a postgraduate year at New Hampton School (NH) and subsequently continued his basketball career at Stetson University (FL), earning a Bachelors in Business Administration and playing two years of NCAA D1 basketball. His academic pursuits continued with a Masters in Sports Management at Southern Methodist University (TX). Currently, Alex serves as an assistant varsity basketball coach and strength and conditioning coach at Awty International School. His mission is to leverage his past experiences and acquired knowledge to guide young athletes towards more successful careers, both on and off the basketball court, fostering their growth into responsible adults.
